Mother. Partner. Co-worker. Friend.

Family. Marriage. Career. Network.

Abstraction creates anxiety, even as it seeks the essence of the idea.

But an essence is acted, experienced, felt. It is not considered well.

Rational consideration of an essence gives form to a 3rd entity that can never be experienced or fulfilled.

A chair is not a “chair,” but the chair and I are one.

We seek the unnatural completion of a “chair” — and we forget to sit.

Two partners create a marriage until they consider “our marriage.”

Two co-workers work until they become “professional.”

We upload pictures and update statuses until we begin protecting our “online identity.”

The 3rd entity requires management.

The 3rd entity stands between us, even as it stands impossibly out of reach.

We speak with shy, incessant mouths.
